1966 Corvette HP SHP Small Block and Big Block Manual Transmission Systems

The 1966 Corvete Exhaust systems for the high horsepower small block and big block manual transmission cars both consisted of 2 1/2" front pipes and rear pipes" 2" outlet mufflers with stainless steel extensions The small block system had a welded in 2" section on each of the front pipes and our original pipes consisted of wrinkle bends on the small blocks but none on the big blocks so that is the way we build them.. Our kits come 14 ga aluminized with the corect front pipes, correct flanges, extensions, donuts, sealant, guillotine clamps, mufflers, installation instructions and diagrams. Reproduction center,and muffler hangers are available as well as stainless steel tips, heat riser and stud kit. Our system comes with flats in the rear pipes as original and flattened style u-bolts for center exhaust hanger. Ask about our concours show pkg. for the hobbiest who can't stand surface rust. (Mufflers are available in standard and N - 11 off road packages)

 

1966 Corvette 427 Side Exhaust

The 1965 - 1967 Big Block Corvette Side Exhaust is one of the more unique exhaust systems built during the muscle car era. This exhaust system was not for the faint of heart. It consisted of 2 1/2 inch pipes welded into a 2 3/4" chambered section. The section had numerous crimps in it to hold the unique internals inside. The system was finished off with a angle cut chrome tip that was welded to the 2 3/4 chambered section. The only attaching hardware for the system was a small bracket welded to the last crimp of the exhaust system. You should only consider this system if you like the roar of the car more than the sound of the radio.
